Control & Command

Retailers that entrust their security needs to SECOM benefit from our state-of-the-art Control & Command Centre – a specialist team of dedicated response operators that are on-hand to monitor risks and take security action where required. Our partners’ systems are connected to the SECOM servers, allow the Control & Command team to see high-risk sites on the dynamic video wall, as well as on individual operator workstations where they can monitor particular ISB alerts and video images. Our operators monitor video in real-time, choosing between any of the 20-24 in-store cameras, which can be individually selected to monitor suspicious activity.

Our Control & Command Centre

Gathering Intelligence

SECOM gathers intelligence on in-store incidents and the behaviour of suspicious shoppers to identify habitual offenders and collate evidence – enabling law enforcement to issue banning orders and bring criminals to justice. SECOM has intelligence analysts and investigators who build up profiles and develop intelligence reports, which are regularly passed to the police. Traditionally, guards are deployed to high-risk sites. With this intelligence, they're strategically assigned to cover peak periods that are likely to see criminal activity, improving cost-effectiveness.

Retail Intelligence

SECOM ROGUES Alert

ROGUES is a brand-new service added to the intelligence-led security retail solution that SECOM provide. Our pioneering IPCCTV technology has been installed in over 600 ‘high-risk’ retail outlets across the UK, offering superior protection for our partners. Analysis of previously recorded incidents provides vital intelligence on repeat offenders, such as photographic evidence, their appearance and their in-store habits – all of which can be used to predict criminal patterns and increase security where necessary.

Mobile & Portable video solutions

When a repeat offender is identified, SECOM operators can use ROGUES to transmit the present image via a smartphone app to alert the guards or managers at stores in close proximity that are part of the offender’s usual pattern. With this information, they are better placed to deal with the risk and put deterrents in place before any criminal activity occurs. Significantly, ROGUES – together with evidence of other incidents – allows SECOM to pass comprehensive intelligence reports to police so that they can take further action. With police resources already stretched, these reports can make a positive contribution to reducing crime whilst improving police time management.

"This process has resulted in significant prison sentences on several offenders and we are hopeful of getting these on further three suspects who are currently wanted.

It saves my team and I significant time now that you are providing us with full, edited CCTV continuity of offences which we can download and present to suspects for interview and at the subsequent court date, and of course providing statements of complaint."

"Working with the Control & Command centre, my team have managed to actively target a repeat offender, and deter her from committing further offences.

As soon as she was spotted, the SECOM team made a live announcement to let her know she was under surveillance, which led to her removing the items from her handbag, and leaving the store immediately "
