As an employer you have a duty of care to your employees especially when staff work alone. Our lone worker solution, Secom Protect, can help you meet these obligations and at the same time provide reassurance and peace of mind to your employee.
Unlike other similar devices, which may be mobile phone based our solution doubles as an ID badge. This makes its true role difficult to detect, meaning that any assailant is less likely to know what it is and try to disable it.
Secom Protect is easy to charge, just like a mobile phone, and should be recharged everyday just as you would your phone.
Its size also means that it doesn't get in the way of the wearer's everyday duties, be they a delivery driver, health worker, security guard, retail worker, maintenance staff or night shift worker.
Before entering a situation you should set up an amber alert by pressing the buttons on the side of the device. Once it vibrates, you record the relevant details - such as your name, who you are visiting, the time and the exact address - this will be used in case you get in trouble. This information is only referred to if a red alert is signalled.
When you feel as though you are in danger or are experiencing verbal abuse, you can discreetly press the red alert button on the back. This will alert SECOM's own manned Manned Response Centre of the situation and they will be able to listen and evaluate your situation.
Our response centre is manned 24 hours a day with your location determined through the unit's GPS and the call monitored by a dedicated operator, with the audio being recorded and used as evidence if it is then required.
The alert will trigger a pre-agreed escalation procedure to all nominated contacts. [Pause] We are fully accredited by BS8484, which allows the dedicated operator to escalate a call to the police when necessary.
There's also the option of using the device to operate a 'man down' alarm if requested. To find out more about this and the lone worker personal tracker in general, contact Secom on 0808 250 6110.
