On Friday 11th March 2011 the North of Japan was struck by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake that resulted in a tsunami flooding the area leaving chaos, widespread damage and ruin in its wake.
Immediately calls of concern came into Head Office from SECOM employees around the country asking if SECOM Japan colleagues were alright.
Managing Director, Minoru Takezawa, released a company message to address the situation.
Japan Appeal Week was set up by SECOM Plc in response to this tragedy. Colleagues joined together to participate in a number of activities to help raise money for their SECOM Japan colleagues caught up in the suffering and hardship of this unexpected natural disaster.
Activities across the regions included local raffles, hot food and cake sales, freshly made breakfasts, guess how many sweets, sponsored walks and silences, fancy dress and dress downs, car washing and wet sponge throwing, tombolas and much, much more.
By working together SECOM employees have managed to raise: £3,110.
