Thieves who were trying to break in to a property in Diss have been put off the idea thanks to the effective work of a burglar alarm.
Two attempted burglaries recently took place in the town and police are now appealing for anyone who might have any information about the incidents to come forward and help their investigation, reports the Diss Express.
Offenders made an attempt to gain access to a property on Frenze Road in Diss at approximately 06:30 and this is not the first time that such an event has happened. A previous attempt was made to enter the property earlier in the month, police believe. On both occasions, no entry was made and the would-be intruders left empty handed.
In the most recent case, the offenders were disturbed by a home alarm system that sounded as a result of their efforts to get inside the home and they fled the scene without making any further progress in their criminal activity.
Such developments could be a worry for other residents in Diss, not to mention the owner of the home in question, and prompt further security measures in order to stave off the threat posed by the potential thieves.
Investing in a home alarm system is undoubtedly a great idea when it comes to improving a property's security levels and reducing the likelihood of falling victim to a burglar.
Some of the latest systems on the market come with a direct connection to an Alarm Response Centre, which ensures experts are on hand at all hours of the day to deal with any incidents that occur by sending assistance as soon as possible.
Products such as these could be of tremendous value in Diss right now, where people who know anything about the attempted break-ins are asked to get in touch with DC Scott Malcolmson at Thetford CID.
