Police release CCTV images of jewellery incident

Police have released images captured by CCTV systems which show two people they want to speak to in connection with a theft at a jewellers in Cheltenham town centre.

Just after midday on Wednesday (December 19th) in River Island in Regent Arcade, a man left a bag containing earrings worth £995 that he had earlier purchased. He later returned to the store to discover that the bag had gone.

The earrings were in a bag from David Christopher Jewellers and are a pair of 18 carat yellow gold diamond studs with a six claw setting.

Police have resorted to the power of CCTV in an effort to find a man and a woman who were in the shop at the time the theft took place.

It is hoped that the clear images may help members of the public identify the two.

Officers said they, or anyone who recognises them, should contact Gloucestershire police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 165 of December 19th.
