CCTV systems are to be installed at an historic Coventry park after a series of arson attacks.
Last month, more than £6,000 worth of damage was caused by vandals setting fire to a child's play area, while last week a tree in Allesley Park was set alight.
Council officers have told local residents they are trying to trace the offenders and are urging members of the public to contact the city's antisocial behaviour infomation line in they have any details, reports the Coventry Telegraph.
However, concerned families set up a Facebook page calling for CCTV to be installed at the park in order to act as an immediate deterrent to future attacks.
Councillor Bally Singh said: "Hopefully the temporary CCTV in the play area will help to deter future arson attempts from happening."
He added that that he hopes the video surveillance will become a permanent fixture as it not only improves security, but it will help to reassure local residents.
