A wonderful donation drive led by the Credit Control Team in Head Office has collected a tremendous amount of food and household products for Purley Food Hub to help those less fortunate this Christmas and beyond.

Christmas has long been considered a time for giving and for helping your fellow human. In a similar vein SECOM take social responsibilites seriously. This December, the Credit Control Team in Kenley have displayed an incredible amount of generosity, kindness and humanity in organising donations for a local food bank.

Purley Food Hub has existed to help people in crisis in the local community for the past five years. In what can be seen as both as great evidence of the hard work and determination of local volunteers and also as a tragic indictment of the negative impacts of the country's ongoing social injustice, last week they served their 100,000th meal since opening!

The food bank put out a plea for food, household products and, unsurprisingly for the time year mince pies and chocolates, as part of their Reverse Advent Calendar initiative, whereby each day the participants would put aside an item for donation. Judging by the impressive horde of boxes and goodies stretching across the office, everyone involved has been donating with a tremendous free spirit, not limited to just one item a day! No doubt the Food Hub and its 2,000 clients will be delighted when the SECOM team deliver their smorgasbord of donations by the car load later today!

Perhaps sweetest of all, the team even found time to wrap up some beautiful bags of candy and chocolate, perfect for Christmas!

Anyone wishing to make a donation to Purley Food Hub can find out more, including which items are specifically requested this month, via their website http://www.purleyfoodhub.net

Similar authorised food banks operate across the country, details of which are available online and also via local authorities.
